Crusder Kings 3

This masterful construction sim is out of Early Access, and hoo-boy has the wait been worth it. Its building systems are so intricate, you'll feel like Alice tumbling down a rabbit hole of automation. 

Factorio 

Score: 91%

A high-octane shooter stuffed full of savage demon slaying. With the slickest FPS engine around, Doom Eternal is a technical marvel. Once it gets going, it comfortably outguns the 2016 reboot.

A dreamlike sleuthing sim where you're free to investigate on your own terms. The zany vaporware might be a bit much for some, but the open-ended detecting provides a rewarding sense of freedom. 

Paradise Killer

Score: 91%

A follow-up to one of the most beloved PC horror games around, Rebirth expertly builds tension through disturbing imagery and sound mixing. It's so dark in places, it makes The Dark Descent look tame by comparison.
