HITMAN 2 - GHOST MODE

Breaking the singleplayer confines of Hitman, Ghost Mode placed two players in a race to kill a random target. It was super tense, but IO still discontinued the mode last year.

GOTHAM CITY IMPOSTORS

Even after a free-to-play relaunch, this silly comic caper struggled to maintain a playerbase. Despite the lack of Batman, it remained a warmly stupid good time.

SHADOWRUN (2007)

Some would argue this was a game ahead of its time, dabbling in the ability-centric design that would be used by later games like Overwatch. Pity its map pool was way too small.

TOM CLANCY'S RAINBOW SIX: VEGAS 2

Despite being a quality cover shooter, Vegas 2’s player count dwindled as it aged, until its remaining fans were forced to hang up their tactical balaclavas for good.

TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON

Thanks to fast and fluid controls, the game's combat had an energetic pace in competitive multiplayer. Sadly, Cybertron disappeared from storefronts in 2017.

TOM CLANCY'S SPLINTER CELL: CHAOS THEORY

Spies vs Mercs was a classic mode of cat-and-mouse online espionage. A combined casualty of changing hardware standards and Ubi's discontinued support for older games eventually killed the mode.
